👋 Welcome to String Theory Guitar Studio
Hi, I’m Rob Taylor, the creator behind String Theory Guitar Studio. I’m a guitarist, teacher, writer, and lifelong music learner. Thanks so much for stopping by—I'm glad you're here.
🎸 What This Studio Is About
String Theory Guitar Studio is built on a simple idea: anyone can learn to play guitar with the right support, guidance, and a bit of curiosity. Whether you’re just starting out or returning to the instrument after a break, this space is here to help.
Through a mix of personalised lessons, guides, historical deep-dives, and practical tips, I aim to make learning the guitar more meaningful—and more enjoyable.
You’ll find posts here on everything from technique and theory to teaching insights and the forgotten corners of guitar history.
🎶 Who I Am
I’m a guitarist, composer, bandmate, dog owner, lapsed academic, failed data scientist—and a lifelong fan of music, education, and technology.
Teaching guitar is one of the most rewarding things I do. Writing about it is a close second.
☕️ Supporting the Studio
This studio has been a passion project for a long time, and it’s finally found its home here on Substack. I’m excited to keep sharing what I know—and what I’m still figuring out.
If you enjoy the posts, the best way to support this work is to subscribe for free. You’ll get new content delivered straight to your inbox.
And if you’d like to help me carve out a little more time to write, you can also buy me a coffee. Every bit of support is hugely appreciated—it helps keep the strings tuned and the ideas flowing.
Thanks again for reading, subscribing, and being part of this community.
